This month's National Alliance on Mental Illness meeting will feature guest speaker John Steele, who will focus on co-occurring disorders with a holistic approach to recovery.
NAMI support groups meet on Monday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. at Community Mental Health, 218 Fast Ice Drive in Midland.
Steele has a master’s in clinical psychology and has spent years working to assess the needs of incoming clients. He is semi-retired from Saginaw Psychological and has been in recovery himself since 1984.
NAMI Midland has two support groups, one for persons living with a mental illness, the second for their family members and caregivers.
NAMI Midland also is still taking registrations for the free Family to Family program, for family members/caregivers. The program is an 8-week class meeting on Tuesday nights from 6:15-8:45pm from September 20 through November 8. Please register by Sept. 14.
