iZotope, makers of a whole suite of audio post-production tools, has begun teasing version 10 of their flagship products. And while you’re waiting for iZotope Ozone 10 and RX 10, the current versions are discounted. So this might be a good time to grab a copy, since you’ll get a free upgrade to version 10 when it comes out.
Good visuals are, of course, key to any film project. But never underestimate the power of sound! Stunning images with miserable sound are no good, ever. So sound is important, and so is audio post-production.
iZotope’s tools are designed precisely to repair, edit and improve sound. RX is a software that aims to fix typical sound problems like excessive ambient noise, pops and crackles. Here is a brief overview of RX9’s features:
Once that’s done, Ozone is there to bring it all together. This mastering suite helps audio editors balance the final mix and give the film project in question a high-quality overall sound. Here’s a brief overview of the software as well:
And since iZotope Ozone 10 and RX 10 are just around the corner, the company has decided to launch a special offer for its products. If you’re interested in getting into audio editing, this might be a good time to check out iZotope’s list of deals:
The Standard version of Ozone 9 is $50 off ($199 instead of $249), the Advanced version is $349 ($150 off), or, for $50 more, you can get a bundle of Ozone 9 Advanced, Neutron 4, Tonal Balance Control 2, Nectar 3 Plus, Neoverb and Melodyne 5 Essential ($399 instead of $699).
All purchases made after August 3 include a free upgrade to iZotope Ozone 10 when it is released. If you need audio repair, iZotope RX is for you: again, the company is offering these tools at a discount that includes a free upgrade to RX 10 once it hits the shelves.
iZotope RX 9 Standard is $299 ($100 off), the Advanced version is $799 ($400 off). Bundles are also available:
iZotope RX in particular has become a very popular tool for fixing common audio problems in post-production, and as stated above, good sound is key to any film project. Being able to fix problems with recorded audio with just software is really cool and can up your game in filmmaking.
iZotope has not yet announced when exactly version 10 of RX and Ozone will be released, but I think it won’t be too long.
