Founder Andrew Bishop is looking for a buyer to allow BishopSound to expand its infrastructure to a level that can meet growing demand for the company’s point source and line array loudspeakers.
BishopSound, a boutique manufacturer of point source and line array loudspeakers, is seeking a buyer.
Company founder Andrew Bishop is looking to partner with investors to grow the infrastructure to a level that can meet the increasing demand for his products.
BishopSound has a loyal customer base in the UK among artists, rental companies and systems integrators. Its order book is also burgeoning with enquiries from as far afield as the US, India, West Africa and Vietnam.
Since the company was formed in 2015, year-on-year growth has stretched resources to the limit, and Bishop feels the best way forward is to place the business in the hands of a likeminded concern with shared goals in entertainment technology.
BishopSound’s provenance goes back several decades to when Bishop took control of British loudspeaker brand Carlsbro which, under his stewardship, grew in turnover from £900,000 to £4.6m in eight years. Bishop has also worked as a consultant with designers responsible for several other UK speaker brands in pro audio and MI, including Wharfedale, Vox and Marshall.
“In business, I have learned never to bury my head in the sand,” said Bishop. “I know my limits, I recognise the facts and focus on the things that can be changed. Investment in people and premises is needed to accommodate demand. Without more resources, I know that I have taken BishopSound as far as I can, singlehandedly.”
The sale of the company will be handled by Leeds-based chartered surveyor Eddisons.
BishopSound will be exhibiting on Stand A39 at the PLASA Show, which takes place at Kensington Olympia from 4-6 September.
